Michael Lee Barnett!!!!! That is SOOOOOO wrong!!!! If this had happened in your classroom you would never have tolerated it. A rule is a rule. Webster's Dictionary defines it as: controlling power; an authoritative direction or statement which regulates the method of doing something; a standard procedure. I cannot believe you, an ex-police man, would just laugh in the face of the law... that you would corrupt a child like that. Have you learned nothing from all your Super Nanny watching??? Are you forfeiting your controlling power? Because if she can defy Lisa's rule, she will learn to defy yours and anyone else's. I am shocked.

Mike, as your friend and a connoisseur of your humor, I find the "no drink on couch" story extremely amusing. As a mommy (and thus lawgiver), I find it morally repugnant. On second thought though, it is a really good life lesson in working around the rules. So kudos!
